Policy, Rules and Procedures |
General Policy
It is the policy of the faculty and staff of Booker T. Washington Public Charter School to help students solve conduct problems without resorting to extreme disciplinary measures. Suspension action is recommended only as a last resort. To that end, school personnel are encouraged to pursue and exhaust all other available and appropriate disciplinary actions. The goal is to foster the education and good conduct of a student before resorting to suspension.
Student misconduct should be considered evidence of more complex underlying problems that a student may have with school and society. Every effort should be made by the school to help the student remain in school and to deal effectively with these problems.
