Mission

The mission of Booker T. Washington Public Charter School for Technical Arts is to educate students in grades 9 through 12, adults, and others for the construction and building trades and prepare them for life-long learning:
  • Educate students to meet college matriculation requirements;
  • Train students for construction apprenticeship programs;
  • Develop life skills for long-term success;
  • Create opportunities for employment and entrepreneurship.

SPRING BREAK IS HERE!!
BTWPCS faculty, staff and students will be on Spring Break begining Monday April 14th through Monday, April 21. All will return to school on Tuesday, April 22nd.
Final Week of DC CAS Testing - Upcoming Spring Break Schedule
DC CAS testing will continue on Monday and Tuesday with the Physical Education and Biology Tests. All students enrolled in these classes must take these exams which will be given each morning beginning at 8:30 am. Other students will be in their regular classes. Once exams are completed, all students will continue in their afternoon classes. Students will have their regular schedule throughout the week and on Friday with the regular dismissal at 2:30.

Spring Break begins on Monday April 14th and ends Monday, April 21. Students return to school on April 22nd.
DC CAS Testing Cycle - April 1-3; April 7 - 9
BTWPCS is preparing our 9th and 10th grades students for the required city wide test which will be conducted the first week in April. All students are asked to be to school on time 8:00 for a series of tests in reading, math, health, biology and composition. Upperclassmen will be engaged in a series of college tours and field trips. Student behavior and conduct is an important factor for participation in these special events.Students will be provided additional information and permission slips for all eligible events.
Third Advisory Final Exam Week - Adjusted Schedule for Students
This is the final week for Advisory Three. All students will be taking final exams as follows:
Monday, March 24 - Adjusted Schedule - Students will attend all classes today for final review; Tuesday (B day)- Wednesday (A-Day); Class Room exams; Thursday, March 27 - Friday, March 28; Make-up exam days - Early Dismissal/End of the Advisory.
Advisory 3 Progress Reports
Students have reached the midpoint of advisory three. Parents will be receiving these reports shortly. Students who have low or failing grades are required to participate in Afterschool Tutorial until grades improve. Final exams will begin on March 24 for Advisory 3 which will end on March 28th.
